Birchbox #3 | April

Birchbox, Rifle Paper Co., Beauty, Subscription box

For April, Birchbox has collaborated with Rifle Paper Co. and just look at how beautiful it is! I love spring and this box just screams springtime.

We got the chance to either choose between 2 box designs this month or leave it to chance. Of course, I chose mine, because I am the sort of person that, if given that control, I will take it with both hands! Also, there was the chance to pay an extra £4 for 2 Rifle Paper Co. notebooks and well, I did that too, because, you know, stationary.

I got a little impatient this month, irrationally so. I get my box delivered to home because I work between 2 offices and I can never guarantee which one I will be in if any. In the office Friday, 2 friends had theirs delivered at the same time, me being me I got really excited to get home and look at its beauty but it wasn't there. No,  had to wait for the whole weekend until I got home Monday when it was finally delivered!

So enough rambling about my impatience and how unbelievably pretty this box is because it is that, it's beautiful, but let's get to what was on offer this month product wise.

Birchbox, Rifle Paper Co., Beauty, Subscription box

Benefit | Dew the Hoola | RRP: £22.50
Cynthia Rowley Beauty | Eyeliner in Black | RRP: £11
NUXE | Huile Prodigieuse | RRP: £17
PARLOR by Jeff Chastain | Detangling Leave-in Conditioner | RRP: £17
Kueshi | Foot Care Cream | RRP: £12

This month, as well as collaborating with Rifle Paper Co. there was also a Benefit theme, every subscriber got a Benefit sample. I was pretty convinced I would get a They're Real Mascara, purely because I already have about a million samples of this, but I was so overjoyed t get Dew the Hoola that I unpackaged it instantly to swatch and used it Tuesday morning, and then carefully placed it back in the packaging for these pictures.

My first impressions are that the formula is lovely. Nice and thick but still workable. It is free of shimmer making it great for a natural bronze or contour but also isn't completely flat matte, more like an undetectable velvet finish. I can't compare the colour to the solid Hoola bronzer as I have never used it, but I do think this may be a little too light for me. If I find a way t make the colour work I will be buying the full size that's for sure!

I haven't actually used anything else yet to give an honest opinion, but I did swatch the Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner shortly after I got over my Benefit excitement. It's not the blackest I have ever used, hello bareMinerals Round The Clock, but it is pretty damn close. Also, the swatch was still perfect on my hand after a pretty intense gym session so that bodes well.

So 3 month's in and it is safe to say, Birchbox, I am in love!

If you fancy signing up you can do so here and receive £5 worth of Birchbox point for free!

What did you think of this month's box?
